Bartolo Colon, Yankees might actually be good. Wait, really?
I know this sounds crazy. I know he hasn't been good since 2005, but I have a feeling he might have a career revival.
This spring Colon has preformed much better than expected. Everyone, including writers on major news websites, social networking sites, and just regular friends, said that Colon had absolutely nothing left. In four games this spring, Colon has pitched to a 2.40 ERA with a .73 WHIP. The WHIP is extremely impressive for a pitcher who has a 1.34 WHIP for his career. Do I think he will have a WHIP under 1.20 this season? No. Do I think he could post a WHIP under 1.30? Yes.
Another interesting spring training statistic is his K/BB ratio. In 15.0 innings, Bartolo Colon has 17 strikeouts to one walk.
Another sign of Bartolo Colon's revival is his 2008 season with the Boston Red Sex. In 7 games, he went 4-2 with a 3.92 ERA.
I project Colon to win 14 games with a 3.80 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 140 SOs.
