Fantasy Drafting: The "Oh-man" Moment

Every single person who has played any fantasy sport has had a competitor pick their guy ONE pick before. For example, I was itching to take Matt Kemp at 22. The person right in front of me drafted him at 21.

It's awful.

It's saddening.

It's an opportunity to get an even better player.

I know my third statement does not make as much sense as the first two, but bear with me for a moment. A lot of times people will be focused on drafting one player once they see he is within reach. However, once he is picked out from under you, an opportunity arises.

With the 22 pick in the draft, I took Jon Lester. Might have been a reach, but as pointed out in this post, I am a Lester believer.

I normally don't draft any pitchers until at least round  five, but after having the "Oh man moment." I reacted, and I feel I got a really quality pitcher.

Always look on the bright side of life as they always say.
