Garrett Anderson, a former Los Angeles Angels' great, retires

Garrett Anderson, the Angel's great outfielder, has retired after a great 17 years in major league baseball. He is by no means a Hall of Famer, but he did have some really high quality seasons. He hit 35 home runs in 2000 and 287 in his career.

He also hit 100 RBI in four consecutive years of his prime from 2000 to 2003. From 1996 to 2009 he never had any major injuries, and only missed significant time a few times.

Anderson was a member of the 2002 World Champion Anaheim Angels. In the 2002 playoffs, he hit .281 with 6 RBI.

If Garrett Anderson has one major fault it was his ability to get on base. He had a high career average, .293, but a relatively low OBP, .324.
